I am a second-generation builder in NYC. I founded Rooted Construction in 2014 to create a building company that could offer construction management on a small scale, while performing a majority of the work with my team of trades, consultants, and designers.
I was born into a family of builders and real estate developers in NYC. I worked as my father, Anthony Lenza's, protegee where I learned to manage job sites and build with passion.
Wanting more formal training in the art of running a construction company, I obtained my Masters in Science of Construction Management from New York University's Shack School of Real Estate in 2013.
I have been working for over 10 years with small business people and homeowners and I inherently understand their needs and goals. I reside in Brooklyn, NY with my partner and cattle dog. I use Instagram to provide a visual journey into my daily process.

Rooted Construction is an American construction management company based in NYC. As construction managers directly performing and managing residential and commercial work we deliver transparency to our clients.
Rooted works with architects and interior designers on specialty design build projects in NYC. The team has been able to execute high end work on timelines and budgets that have proven to be strategic to their clients.
A majority of the work is consolidated in house, crafted by a repeating cast of talented trades people. Rooted prefers this method of building because it reduces coordination on site with multiple contractors and keeps the project’s final design outcome true to the aspirations of the owners and designers.

Our in house fabrication studio in Bedford Stuyvesant allows us to produce high end projects for our clients. It allows craftspeople of different trades to collaborate, design, and execute work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Our studio houses the machinery we need to create custom projects. It is set up to fabricate cabinetry, furniture, wood moldings, rubber molds for casting projects, small scale feature walls, and doors. We have the following tools to assist our process:Recently, Aaron and the Rooted team started to mill logs, for small scale use on their projects. All of the trees were removed in the NYC tri-state area by arborists hired by home owners and developers.
The team is able to retrieve some of these logs that would be turned into mulch. The logs are milled with a modified chainsaw rig that can handle up to a 48” diameter tree.
Sourcing wood is an important part of the fabrication process. By having access to entire trees, our approach to building changes. We are able to design and build with the natural features of the product at hand.
